What is mindfulness?

What is mindfulness

August 25, 2019

Whether you have experienced anxiety or depression over past events, creating a healthy mind is so important now.  At some point in your life, you will struggle with mental health.  I would have given any amount of money to know then what I know now about mental health.  I want to share it with the world so they won’t have to go through what I did.
Mindfulness can mean many things and before we dive into how, we better tackle the what.  In this community, mindfulness can be defined as: being mentally awake, present and intentional about your life and surroundings.  Mindfulness is a way you think and approach your day.  It is looking at your life differently and realizing how powerful your mind is.  You can use the knowledge of having a powerful mind as a force of good or you can unintentionally hurt your reality and physical body.  How do you use your mind?  Do you know you don’t need any outward conditions or healthy to be happy, strong, patient, confident, and the best version of yourself?  You create your perspective and your perspective creates your reality.
Let’s dive into how.

Here is my belief of mindfulness portrayed in a diagram that I like to share with others.  Mindfulness is layers.  There needs to be a strong foundation of peace and once you have mastered the essentials to mental health, you can slowly add more and more layers of peace and happiness as you discover who you are.  Your goal is to be the best version of you….some people call it high vibration…I call it having lasting happiness.
My personal story of mindfulness is long!  Want the short version?  I was forced to find these answers and what I found changed me quickly and wonderfully.  When I say change, I mean cosmos changing.  It filled me with fulfillment, knowledge, confidence, direction and tools to improve the quality of my life.  I wanted a quick fix and this was it: self improvement.  it never seemed overwhelming when I set a time each day to work on it.  If I stopped my daily appointment with myself, it quickly felt impossible.  Find what works for you and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
