Family Economics Theme

This is our summer theme for homeschool this summer!  Economics!  What we did is give each child a set allowance (a dollar or two a day) if they did all of the schedule.  Each time they weren’t respectful (that was one of our expectations we put down) then they would lose a dollar.  At the end of the day they could collect their allowance/reward for finishing their expectations.  We called it earnings for expectations.  On top of that they could earn money for chores.  I’ve included a chore list that we use.  I put a flash card on the fridge when the chore is available to be paid for.  All earnings they log into their check register.  Then, if they want to bring their checks to the store, they can write me a check for something and then pay me later.  We set goals based on the sections of the schedule for the summer as well.  We talked about budgets and economics during the week with the mindful finance packet attached as well!  Enjoy this summer theme!
